This policy covers the SourceSpot website and the SourceSpot browser extension.
The browser extension
- The extension runs only on Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and Amazon.in pages.
- It reads product information shown on the Amazon page you are looking at, such as price, Best Sellers Rank, reviews and the “bought in past month” badge, and shows it in a panel on that page.
- On Amazon list pages (Best Sellers, Movers & Shakers, New Releases) it opens the product pages of the items you scroll past, in the background, from your own browser, to show their Best Sellers Rank and sales badge. These requests go only to Amazon.
- Numbers it has already read are kept for up to 12 hours in your own browser’s storage so pages load faster. They never leave your computer.
- Real Amazon fees (optional): if you are logged in to SourceSpot and have connected your Amazon seller account, the extension sends the ASIN and price of the products you are looking at to SourceSpot, which asks Amazon for the exact fees and sends them back. Nothing else is sent, and these requests are not stored.
- The extension does not collect your name, email, Amazon account, order history, browsing history, passwords or payment details.
- When you click “Analyze in SourceSpot”, the extension opens our website with that product’s public numbers (keyword, price, reviews, rating, sales badge) in the link, so the analysis form is filled in for you.
The website
- Your account: we store your email address and a secure password hash so you can log in. Login is handled by Supabase.
- Your saved products: products you save, with the numbers you entered, are stored in our database and are visible only to you.
- Visitor statistics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
- Amazon connection: if you connect your Amazon seller account, we store an encrypted access token so we can ask Amazon for product fees and catalog details on your behalf. We never read your orders, customers or payments. You can disconnect at any time on the Amazon account page.
- Payments: if you buy Starter or Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID, your plan and when it renews. Your card number goes straight to Stripe and is never seen or stored by us.
- Invites and partner program: if you create an invite link we store its name; if you apply as a partner we also store your channel link, follower count, audience description, PayPal email and the commissions you earn. If you sign up through someone’s link, we keep a small cookie with their link name for up to 60 days and record that they referred you; they see a count of sign-ups and payments, never your name or email.
- Daily usage: we count how many fee lookups and AI requests you make each day, to apply each plan’s daily limits.
- AI features: if you use Find ideas, Supplier message, AI listing builder or Review insights, the text you enter (including reviews you paste) is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to produce the answer. We do not send your email or account details with it.
- Product tracker: for products you choose to track, we save their daily price, Best Sellers Rank, number of sellers and estimated sales, using your own Amazon connection. Only you can see them.
- Image studio: the image checker and white background tool work inside your browser; your photo is not uploaded. If you use Remove background (Business), that photo is sent to remove.bg to process it and is not stored by us.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not share your data with anyone except the services listed above, which we need to run SourceSpot.
Deleting your data
You can delete any saved product from the Saved page at any time. To delete your whole account, contact us and we will remove your account and saved products. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored in your browser.
